Thanks to all those who supported the Pen to Paper challenge we have now raised enough to bring life-changing creative writing programs to marginalised kids at two Western Sydney Schools.

Pen to Paper Challenge

6pm Thursday 23 May - 6pm Sunday 26 May 2019

We challenge you to do what we ask our students to do every day - get out of your comfort zone, put aside your fears, reignite your creativity, and write!

At Story Factory, we know that stories have the power to change lives. Research shows that quality arts-based learning significantly improves social and emotional wellbeing. Story Factory programs help young people most at risk of losing confidence in their writing and switching off at school.

Our mission is to enrich the lives of marginalised young people through creative writing and storytelling. In our workshops they develop the skills and confidence to find their voice and shape their future.

Student Enrolments

Since opening in 2012 we have taken more than 17,500 enrolments, all young people aged 7-17.

Students seen per week

Each week our fantastic storytellers, with the help of wonderful volunteers, give over 800 students a little more confidence to find their voice.

Creative Writing Centres

We work from two amazing creative writing hubs in Redfern and Parramatta. Delivering programs right across Sydney from Auburn to Airds, Matraville to Mount Pritchard.
